Sexual assault charges can change your life from the moment you face arrest. These charges can make family and friends suspicious, and you could risk losing your job or suffering heavy damage to your reputation. The problem with these kinds of charges is that people aren’t easy to forget that you’ve been charged, even if your charges are later dropped.
That’s why it’s important to make sure you’re protecting yourself with a defense from the start. The less information that gets out, the better. Recently, a news report stated that a $75,000 nationwide warrant was issued for a man suspected in a sexual assault case. The police reportedly had a probable cause affidavit that has now been sealed to make sure the man will receive a fair trial.
The news reports that the man was arrested in Tarrant County, Texas, for an assault that took place in Dietrich, Idaho. He’s not the only suspect, according to the news, as he’s been listed as one of multiple people who have been taken into custody.
The court documents state that the man allegedly forcibly penetrated a person with a foreign object. Information on the alleged crime hasn’t been released in order to protect his case from bias, however his image has been released to the public.
In cases like this one, which has multiple suspects, it’s even more important that you’re able to defend yourself. If you’re falsely accused of sexual assault but have your image and name given out to the media, you could face years of harassment or allegations from others, even though you were completely innocent of any crimes.
