2 Ohio men face accusations for Texas drug bust

On Behalf of | Nov 28, 2014 | Drug Charges

Two out of three people who were arrested during a traffic stop in Texas have been accused of drug crimes related to the hydroponic marijuana found in the vehicle. According to a Nov. 18 report, the people had over 20 pounds of the drug in the vehicle at the time of the stop. Two of the men, both 26, and a woman, 71, were booked into the Nacogdoches County Jail after the stop and are now facing charges of drug possession.

One interesting thing about this case is that all three were able to post bail. Bail was set at $100,000 for one of the 26-year-old men, while it was only $20,000 for the other. The 71-year-old also posted bail, but there was no information on how much it was. Both parties were in separate vehicles when they had been stopped, which may have attributed to the differences in bail amounts.

Both vehicles were stopped due to traffic violations on Highway 59. Both vehicles claimed they were not traveling together, however police reported that they were able to link the two parties. They got consent to search the vehicles, which is how the deputies were able to find the hydroponic marijuana. It was allegedly in the 71-year-old’s vehicle at the time of the stop.

In cases like this, you can imagine that someone may have been stuck with the blame when they hadn’t done anything wrong. Sometimes, people are caught up in a bad situation, and it’s made worse when they’re found out. If you’ve been stopped for drug crimes, make sure to seek the help you need to defend yourself.
