When You Are Up Against A Criminal Charge, You Need A Tough And Seasoned Defense Attorney On Your Side

Texas Tech aims to reduce the risk of sexual assault on campus

Sexual assaults are typically preventable. When a person says no, the other person only needs to stop. However, when it comes to accusations, there are other factors that may play a role. Maybe a spurned ex wants to get back at you, or perhaps it’s just a rumor that got out of hand. In any case, you deserve the right to defend yourself.

No one wants to be involved in either side of a sexual assault case, and Texas Tech has joined a campaign to help put an end to sexual assaults on college campuses. According to a Feb. 16 report, the school has partnered with the other Big 12 Universities to help end sexual assault and violence.

The announcement comes after a lawsuit was announced against the school. The lawsuit states that one student was assaulted on campus. The president of the student body said that the video produced by the university for this campaign has been viewed over 50,000 times, and it has hundreds of shares across social media platforms. He hopes that it will continue to spread their message and help people take the meaning to heart.

He explained that one in five women at universities experience an unwanted sexual encounter, and one in 16 men faces the same. It’s important for the student body to understand the harm that this can cause to peers, teachers and others.

In 2016, members of the Student Government Association joined with other Big 12 schools to create the campaign’s video message. Making it a topic of conversation was the goal, with hopes that doing so would help normalize talking about sexual assault and prevention.
