If you’re charged with a sex crime, you probably already know how serious it is. You do have a right to defend yourself, though, and you should do so to make sure you get the unbiased trial you deserve. In some cases, you could protect your name before your reputation can be ruined by the media, which could help you maintain your job, home and social life.

The person in this case may want to take that advice; the Idaho-based man has been charged with sex crimes including child sexual assault. The man has now been stopped and arrested in Texas, and he will have to face the charges against him.

According to the story, the man is a 72-year-old who was allegedly running after being accused of the sexual abuse of a child.

The man will be extradited to Canyon County, Idaho, but for now, he’s being kept in Caldwell County Jail in Texas. He reportedly had fled to Lockhard, Texas, because he had family members there. The authorities have suggested that he may have gone there so family members could hide him.

When the U.S. Marshals Service learned that the man may be in Texas, the investigation was moved to the Austin-based Lone Star Fugitive Task Force. That task force allegedly confirmed the man’s presence in the area before his arrest. The authorities arrested him on May 21 in the 1800 block of South Colorado Street.

This man’s charges have not yet been proven, and he should be treated as innocent until — and only if — he is proven guilty. He’s being held right now while waiting to be sent back to Idaho, and he will face the charges against him there.
